A project to improve the lighting, lighting controls, and multi-media audio visual equipment in the main theatre of the Carrollwood Cultural Center.
Remember the old refrain, “Lights! Camera! Action!”? All shows start with the lights turning on. (If you want to wax philosophical, so does everything else.) The Center’s “Turn on the Lights” campaign is raising funds to upgrade lighting in the main theatre. Our building was not originally designed as a performing arts venue, and its lighting technology is limited. We want to be able to support and provide multimedia, film, theatre, musical performances and other events for the community.
These new lighting fixtures will benefit the Center by increasing efficiency, decreasing stage heat, improving functionality, opening the door for new programming opportunities such as film festivals, improving production quality, lowering maintenance costs, and simplifying set-up.
Your power2give contributions can put our existing campaign over the top! We only need $6889 to TURN ON THE LIGHTS.
Many thanks to our pre-power2give contributors who have already raised $9475 toward our overall goal of $15,537– Craig and Linda Nowicke of Tampa Bay’s RE/MAX ACR Elite Group generously contributed $4500. Bud Grudnik, editor and publisher of Village Views, and his band the Uptown Players with special guests the Lint Rollers donated their time to a benefit performance that raised $975. Many thanks to Craig and Linda, the Uptown Players, the Lint Rollers, and to everyone who has donated so far!
