Dion Caines

Dion Caines graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. He has taught music in the Virgin Islands and Tampa. Currently, he is Music Specialist at the Paul Mort Elementary School in Hillsborough County. He has earned his Level 11 certification in Orff-Schulwerk pedagogy.

Dion has also enjoyed the pleasure of being an accompanist for the Hillsborough Fine Arts All County Chorus. During the past three years, he has participated in the Professional Development Music Educators Grant, which trains music specialist in various areas of the profession.

Dion is a member of Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ where he plays an active role in the music department as a keyboardist for sanctuary services, choir and rehearsals.

In keeping with this Caribbean roots, Dion is a member of Mo’ Than Conquerore, a Caribbean gospel in Tampa.
