This class will introduce students of all ages to the fundamentals of percussion, starting with a rudiment structure and ultimately moving toward study on a drum set. The class will focus on handling sticks and proper technique, drum rolls, snare drum (students will use the instructor’s drum). Students will also learn a song and play it for family and friends.

Required Supplies:

A pair of drumsticks.

There are two vendors that the Tampa Bay Pipes & Drums use regularly to purchase these items: The British Shop and Tone Czar, Inc. It is recommended that you buy a plastic practice chanter; however there are more expensive wooden options available.
