A For ages 16 and older

For beginners and intermediate clay students. Students, you will learn how to “see” the human figure in a  block of clay.  Clay is brought at first class.  Bring photos and pictures of a figure(s) you like and want to create from a block on a good turntable;  bring to first class; a good sound turntable is essential for working your clay figure 360 degrees.  Plan your figure about 12” tall.  A second session is usually required; the figure has to dry, be fired in the kiln and a patina applied on your finished piece.  We have fun and learn at the same time. Your clay is purchased at first class and a handout will be given to answer questions and suggest sculptors you may wish to research.  I suggest you sculpt a figure with arms close to it’s sides.

*Materials Fee:

Students will be required to pay an additional materials fee of $30 for clay, glaze and firing. The materials fee should be paid to the instructor on the first day of class.
