Alexis Brown painting I Am Safe mural

I Feel Safe New Public Artwork

Alexis Stix Brown with I Am Safe MuralThe Carrollwood Cultural Center has new public artwork.

The piece, an outdoor mural titled “I Feel Safe” by artist Alexis “Stix” Brown, is on display and can be viewed from the Center’s picnic area, located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa. Brown received a Fulfill Your Destiny grant from On Point Executive Center with a proposal to paint a mural that inspires those dealing with thoughts of suicide to choose life, especially during times of uncertainty and chaos.

The piece incorporates words by Lex Lang:

“Here exists diverse seeds of play. Here in this place, grow the best versions of self. Here, I belong to a community that thrives because I choose to nurture my Artistic Soul. We are culture in motion:.”
