Wheel Throwing

  • Class Description

Wheel Throwing class iconStudents will learn the basics of wheel throwing by forming and throwing simple shapes on the potter’s wheel. More advanced students will build upon the basics to create larger, more advanced projects.

Weeks 1-4 are for creating, and weeks 5-6 are for glazing. Break week is for firing. Finalized pieces can be picked up the first week of the next session at your last class time, even if you are not registered for the next session. Notice will be sent out to all students once the firings are complete.

Please Note: All students must be able to follow instructions and work independently with further help as needed. Working with the wheel requires moderate upper body strength, using shoulders, arms, and hands to mold and shape clay.
