Broadway Bound is an educational musical theatre group for children ages 7 to 17. Our goal is to introduce and perfect the skills required for musical theatre production. By offering comprehensive training in music, acting and dance your child will have the opportunity to be a well- rounded performer in all disciplines. The students are exposed through a hands- on environment to all aspects of the theatre, and are educated in the audition process. Our exciting approach builds self-confidence, sense of responsibility, and collaborative abilities.
Music: Students will be taught proper vocal technique, breathing, and a working knowledge of musical theory.
Acting & Drama: By introducing different varieties and methods of acting from drama to comedy to improvisational theatre, our children are ready to assume any role from Hamlet to Wicked.
Dance: We will cover the fundamental concepts of dance as it is associated with musical theatre. Emphasis is placed on discipline, musicality and technique.
Creative Writing Works: Children will explore their creative ideas and individual expression on paper as they develop original theatrical productions.
Members of Broadway Bound have appeared in full-length musical productions at the Center including Lionel Bart’s Oliver!, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I, HAIRSPRAY The Broadway Musical and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in addition to G2K Once Upon a Mattress, Honk Jr., and their original production of A Day in the Life of…ME!

Attendance: Broadway Bound meets at the Center every Saturday throughout the school year from 9 am until 1 pm. Children will be expected to be at class each week, unless they have made arrangements with the teachers. Attendance the week prior to any performance is mandatory, unless arrangements have been made with the directors.
Attitude: Students should be attentive, positive, willing to learn and have fun. Unruly or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
Dress: The children are required to wear black pants, and black dance shoes for rehearsals. We provide a t-shirt for performances, but weekly rehearsals they may wear whatever appropriate shirt they would like. The children practice a variety of exercises and need appropriate shoes to move.
Performance Attire: Unless the children are to be in special costumes for a performance, they will wear their black pants, black socks, and their blue Broadway Bound t-shirts. Girls hair is to be tied back off their face, and boys, combed and off their face. When the children are performing as a group, we want them to look uniform and neat. We love to let the kids express their individuality when they are in character, or at rehearsals, but as a group, we want to be uniform.
Tuition: Tuition for Broadway Bound is $65 for members and $75 for non-members. Tuition is due at the beginning of each month. If you are interested in applying for Tuition Assistance, please download the 2013 Tuition Assistance form.
