Beginning Guitar with Ryan Muar

In this class students will learn guitar basics such as note reading, right and left hand positions and scales. This class is offered more than once per week. Please see schedule.

Intermediate Guitar with Ryan Muar

Students will begin by learning fundamentals to build a good foundation for making advances easily on the guitar. Topics that will be covered are reading, scales, chords, and left and right hand finger independence. Building on these topics, Ryan Muar will provide pieces of music that will continue the development and build a strong repertoire of music that is right for each individual. Beginning Piano (Ages 5-7)
with Gretchen Winfield (Tuesday) and Ryan Muar (Saturday)

For young children with no prior piano experience. The keyboard will be introduced. Very basic theory will be explored including the treble and bass clef, the names of the lines and spaces along with the kinds of notes that make up a simple melody. This will be related to simple melody that they will learn.

Ages: 5-7 ● Levels: 1

Supplies: Students must provide their own headset, folder for handouts, and bring $10 to the first day of class for lesson book.

For the 8-10 year old student with no prior piano experience. They will be introduced to the piano and basic theory. Melodies will be introduced that show examples of the theory that has been taught. Basic rhythms will be introduced.

Students will learn the keyboard and basic theory. They will be able to apply this knowledge to playing melodies with chord patterns in the left hand. No previous experience for playing the piano is necessary.

Prerequisite: Piano I, Piano II or teacher approval. For the student with experience playing the piano. The student will work on technique and theory and apply it to the keyboard. Access to a keyboard is necessary for practice.

Beginning Violin with Annemarie Whitehurst

This class covers the basics in learning the violin, including violin care, reading music, posture, mechanics, scales, and introductory songs. The students will grow in appreciation for this beautiful instrument and be able to display that through their new skills. A fun, yet informative class, using the Suzuki method for instructing. Every child can learn!

Ages: 5 – 12 ● Levels: 1

Supplies: Students must provide their own violin, spiral notebook, Suzuki Violin School: Volume I (Book and CD)
