How to register for classes


Kids Combination Tap & Ballet with Laurie Cooper-Bey

A movement class for students aged 6-10 with no previous dance training or a student with one year of training. Emphasis is placed on discipline, musicality and technique.

Ages: 6-10 ● Levels: 1-2

Supplies: Ballet shoes, leotard (any color) and pink tights with hair bun.

Bollywood Dance with Gowrie Varanie Vairavamoorthy

Students will learn Bollywood, Indian classical and Indian folk dances. Movements involve a combination of modern filmy steps with classical gestures to create expression and graceful movements. This class brings discipline to the body and helps keep you in shape.  Classes begins with a three minute warm-up routine followed by dance instruction.

Ballroom Dance with Debbie Herring

In this class students will learn basic information about ballroom dance. You will be shown some basic ballroom steps from the dances of your choice. All of the moves will be explained slowly and carefully while the instructor demonstrates and breaks down all of the footwork. Bring a partner or come alone…we are all here to have fun. Ballroom dance is great exercise and a wonderful way to meet new people. Don’t sit on the sidelines anymore when the music plays…get out on the dance floor and have fun!

Yoga for Two: Parent & Baby (3-24 months) with Sharon Orbin

This class will focus on basic yoga poses for both parent and baby. We will also incorporate music and songs to make this an ultimate experience that will promote health and strength, while reinforcing the bond between baby and parent.

SOS: Stress-Out Support with Geraldine Novy, BS, RN, NC-BC

Do you want to live in balance, able to have greater control of stress?  It is widely accepted that “stress leads to disease.” A Holistic RN and Integrative Health Coach who works in our community hospital explores the possibilities of increased awareness on thoughts, emotions and behaviors, which affect emotional, mental and physical health. This increased awareness develops into wiser, mindful choices, which can amount to improved quality of life, greater coping skills and deeper relationships.

Food as Medicine for a Healthier You 101 with Geraldine Novy, BS, RN, NC-BC

A Holistic RN and Integrative Health Coach who works in our community hospital informs and coaches on the benefits of your choices in whole, clean food selections for your health and well-being. Knowledge is shared about our bodies’ function to understand and give clarity to how food can be medicine to manage weight, increase energy, decrease stress, control blood sugar and blood pressure related to heart disease. Healthy menu planning, understanding food labels  and sharing recipes are part of the course.

Geraldine Novy is a Holisitic RN and Nurse Coach with experience on a neuro-telemetry unit (stroke & heart).  Food can be medicine to lower blood pressure, blood sugar and the risk of heart disease to decreasing or possibly eliminating medication for your optimal wellness.
