Teen Clay with Miriam Zohar

Students will learn basic clay techniques to create one-of-a-kind projects. 

Ages: 12-15

Materials Fee: $25 (Due at the time of registration.)

Wheel Throwing with Miriam Zohar

Students will learn the basics of wheel throwing by forming and throwing simple shapes on the potter’s wheel. More advanced students will build upon the basics to create larger, more advanced projects.

Ages: 15+

Supplies: dish towel / large sponge / small plastic bowl / 5-gallon bucket with lid / 1-gallon bucket / set of pottery tools / apron / either two plastic garbage bags or dry cleaner plastic or a box of saran wrap / a small spray bottle / sketchpad and pencils and separate eraser / small bottles of hand lotion 

Materials Fee: $50 (Due at the time of registration.)

Tuition: $120 member / $140 non-member

Hand Building with Dianne Zink

Participants will be introduced to the hand building techniques of pinch, coil and slab as well as basic design techniques to create functional and nonfunctional clay objects. Through instruction of these techniques, students will begin to recognize the properties, possibilities and limitations of clay and acquire skills to perfect their work and create aesthetically pleasing forms with strong craftsmanship.

Participants who have already acquired the basic techniques of hand building and design will be able to build upon their skills to create more advanced works.  

Ages: 18+

Supplies: dish towel / large sponge / small plastic bowl / 5-gallon bucket with lid / 1-gallon bucket / set of pottery tools / apron / either two plastic garbage bags or dry cleaner plastic or a box of saran wrap / a small spray bottle / sketchpad and pencils and separate eraser / small bottles of hand lotion / Supplies may be found at craft supply stores and hardware stores.
