During this open art reception, meet the artists with work on display in The Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center.

Exhibits and honorees include:

The artists of the main exhibit Black Art Matters, presented by the Gallery at Carrollwood Cultural Center.

Black Art Matters is about celebrating the peaks and valleys of black lives in the past, the present, and the possibilities of the future. The show incorporates pieces from local artists that explore black people’s struggles, tears, laughter, frustration, and hope.

Art that depicts the unwavering faith, power, and character, the endurance and fearlessness experienced generation upon generation.

Art that conveys depth provokes discussion and even makes people uncomfortable.
