MAS Theatre, the resident theatre company for the Center, is looking for ways to deliver classic theatrical productions to our patrons at home. Enter our new Classics on Film series.
The series will open in September with MAS Theatre’s production of George Bernard Shaw’s “How He Lied to Her Husband.” The three-character play will be recorded as a short film on location instead of a single-angle stage play. Once completed, the film will then be available to download for a small fee. The goal is to produce a new show every other month.
MAS Theatre is considering scripts based on their small cast, length of the show, and setting. Writings under consideration for the series include “The Proposal” by Anton Chekhov, “A Doll’s House” and “Hedda Gabler” by Henrik Ibsen, and several productions from playwrights Eugene O’ Neill and Oscar Wilde.
